And he said
“All there will ever be is what’s happening here and the decisions we make in this moment which are based in either love or fear.”
This is exactly where my head has been for the past month or so…dealing with this paradigm…witnessing this paradox of fear based decisions from people that express supreme confidence, including myself.
I originally watched Jim Carrey’s 2014 commencement speech to the graduates of MIU several months ago…and was mesmerized…inspired…moved.
It’s 26 minutes of Jim Carrey that you might not see anywhere else. He’s charming and funny and his intellectual wit is spot on for his audience, like you’d expect, but his honesty…vulnerability…insightfulness is unexpected…but welcomed.
When it popped back up on my Facebook feed today, I decided to give it another listen. There are too many profound statements to quote…and too much conceptual wit to convey in this blog. So I’ll keep my words to a minimum in hopes you are willing to spend the next 26 minutes listening to his speech.
At 10:12 is where it gets really, really good….and is a great place to start if you can’t watch the whole thing.
