I almost forgot to share the rest of my big day news from yesterday.
Last night, I got my Level 1 Reiki certification.
As part of the training, you receive three attunements.
The attunement process enables you to permanently open and connect to the Universal Reiki Energies…while also balancing energy channels within the body. These attunements allow the trainee (me) to become a vessel through which healing energies can flow.
Reiki isn’t a “power” you’re granted. It’s not magic or voodoo. It’s simply a means to tap into a higher energy…another vibrational frequency…the collective good in order to help alleviate pain in yourself or another human…heck, even your pet.
You learn to touch — or hold hands above the body — primary points associated with the chakras or meridian lines in the body. These energetic points and pathways tie into organs, joints, muscles, deeper levels of consciousness and have the ability to drastically impact how a person feels on a mental, emotional, and physical level.
So after finally coming to terms with the fact that one of the things I enjoy most about teaching yoga is giving shoulder presses…holding someone’s head to release their neck…applying gentle pressure to a student’s temples…during savasana, I figured I should do something that involved touch…a healing touch.
So that’s what I did.
